Kindle Paperwhite

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Review

Access thousands of books at the palm of your hand in less than a pound. With so much freedom, it’s hard to resist the power of Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite. It is the one-of-a-kind hand-held device that makes you feel like you’re traveling without getting up from your chair.

Watching TV is tempting, but things are more interesting when it is left up to the mind for imagination. Thank goodness, the Kindle Paperwhite fits in the hand so comfortably that you can lie in your bed for a good read. The navigation is smooth for turning pages and switching between cloud and local storage. Amazon’s library gives readers access to thousands of books for incredibly low prices when compared to printed editions.

The device displays crisp, clear text with flawless resolution that is easy on the eyes. Day or night, the brightness can easily be adjusted. When you’re surrounded by darkness in bed, you can read for several hours without straining your eyes. There is no screen glare even during the day—quite impressive. Use the included software to “spice” things up. When you’re reading, you are free to highlight, share with friends on social platforms, and even get definitions of words you don’t know via Word Wise.

It would be nice to take it to the pool or the tub, but it is not water-resistant. It also does not have a speaker so books won’t be read aloud to you. The Kindle Paperwhite e-reader can go weeks without charging, depending on your usage. The new Kindle is also “kid-friendly” which allows you to set reading goals and keep exact track of their reading. Overall, the device gives an authentic experience much comparable to a book. So for those avid readers long gone are the days of reading print on paper.

Amazon Kindle Voyage

Review

by Alex Mondosie - June 1, 2015

Kindle Voyage is Amazon's most advanced e-reader ever. Intuitive, simple, and refined, Kindle Voyage lets you get lost in your story.

The high-resolution display (300 ppi) features sharp, dark text that reads even more like the printed page. The micro-etched glass screen is crafted to eliminate glare and feel like paper to the touch.

Kindle Voyage can be read in bright sunlight or total darkness—and it's smart enough to know the difference. With a new adaptive front light, Kindle Voyage senses the light in your environment, and changes the setting to the ideal brightness.

PagePress allows you to turn the page without lifting a finger. Simply apply pressure on the bezel to turn the page, and PagePress will provide a silent haptic response for consistent and immediate feedback.

Improved—At just 7.6mm thin, Voyage is Amazon's thinnest Kindle ever. Comfortably hold Kindle Voyage in one hand for long reading sessions.

Enjoy text that reads like the printed page. All fonts have been hand-tuned at the pixel level for maximum readability and comfort.

Add margin notes that you can edit, delete, or even export from your device to your computer. Share highlighted sections and meaningful quotes on Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads, and see passages frequently highlighted by other Kindle readers.

With Page Flip, you can skim page-by-page, scan by chapter, or skip to the end for a sneak peek without losing your place.

Lighter than most paperback books, comfortably hold Kindle in one hand for long reading sessions.

Kindle is purposely designed as a dedicated e-reader. Indulge your love of reading without interruptions like email alerts or push notifications.
